They questioned again: Why do all these animals (i.e. dogs, cats, and the like) reign over the mice? and he answered: Because the mice are instinctively mischievous, since, says Rabha, they tear even garments; and R. So you only thought your cat was haughty; really, it's just that the cat doesn't remember you at all, and is too ashamed to admit it. Thus you should always beware of attributing pride to those around you.
